WSOP 2008

That limit O8 tourney last night was pure torture. In the whole first hour, I won only two split pots, while people around me showed down some questionable hands to rake huge pots. I managed to scrap and scrape my way to a 16th place finish, but I felt like I was one hand away from being out for the last hour and a half that I played. Not exactly a fun experience.

I do like these alternate games, though. Like razz last week, a game I really get into. I think I played pretty well during the first hour, but I got pulled away from the computer unexpectedly right after the first break, never to return, and wound up blinded off in 29th place.

The razz tourney got me thinking though.

Every year I consider playing the $1500 razz event at the WSOP. Every year, something comes up to prevent that. In 2007, I couldn't make my schedule work. In 2006, it conflicted with the California bar exam. In 2005... eh, I don't remember. Point is, I think this should be the year. Finally. The razz tourney starts on a Friday, so it would work very nicely with the standard "arrive on Thursday evening, leave on Monday afternoon" Vegas trip. I have the cash. And Full Tilt runs a 2k guarantee every night at 8:15pm EST for practice.

I need to make this happen. This is my reminder to myself.
